But who was the original killer? It was AC's friend who suggested it wasn't historical accurate for the original ending.

I think that Kait would have been a better murderer. Despite the obvious ending I think that it's still a great book.

I just finished reading this book and I liked it a lot. Part of the solution was so unexpected and the title of the book posed a very interesting problem! I found this to be very much in the vein of a Tommy and Tuppence book, and when I watched the movie from the 1980's and it had Francesca Annis and James Warwick as Frankie and Bobby, I had to keep checking myself. All in all, I thought the novel was very well written, and I thought AC connected seemingly unconnected events very intelligently. My only problem being that maybe there were too few characters who could have been the culprits. How would you rate Why Didn't They Ask Evans?

I've just reread parts of "Destination Unknown" (a.k.a. "So many steps to death") and I seem to have hit a paradox: Hillary/Olive meets Aristides in Morocco, as Jessop later finds out. When she is in the brain center Aristides has her brought to him and tells her all about his project. However, at the end Jessop and Leblanc agree that they will not be able to accuse Aristides. At this point, they may not know about Aristides' and Hillary's conversations, but AC and the readers know - so why doesn't she refer to them? Perhaps hearsay is not admissable, but at least the knowledge is there. Any ideas as to what I missed?

Jealousy, death and betrayal in Ancient Egypt when a man brings home his concubine and the family take an instant dislike to her.

For many readers, Agatha Christie’s novels conjure images of nostalgic post-war England; beautiful country houses, grand estates and jealous families fighting over inheritance. But Christie’s experiences travelling through the Middle East with her archaeologist husband, Max Mallowan, inspired her to write mysteries set in an environment far from the cosy villages of Britain.

What did you think of the novel?

Leave your thoughts, queries and questions here.

I have a copy of "The Secret of Chimneys" and I don't know if it's complete. The last line in my copy is "'I guess,' said Mr. Hiram Fish sotto voce to himself and the world at large, 'that this has been a great little old week.'" Can someone tell me if this is the correct last line of the novel? Thanks for any help.

For me, this book was somewhat disappointing. Whilst the reveal was good, I thought the story dragged on with very little action for about 50 pages too long. What did everyone else think of Ordeal by Innocence?

I finished reading this recently and since I went in with fairly low expectations I quite liked this book. In my opinion it's one of Christie's solid but unremarkable books. I liked Victoria Jones' spirit for adventure and the Middle Eastern setting, but I found it somewhat easy to guess the "wrong-un" in this novel. I'd be interested to know how you would rate this book.

I've started this discussion because I haven't been able to find any other discussion of the November 2013 Book of the Month. Apologies if this is not the right place.
I've only just started reading the book myself but I am finding it quite interesting. I think I may have read it many years ago but if so I've forgotten all the details so it's as if I'm reading it for the first time. Anyone else have any other thoughts?
