Assumptions or Imagination

It has been stated on this site that AC had the fault of assuming the reader knew things.  I, on the other hand, believe that AC knew that her readers would have or had the imagination to combine with her stories.  What are your thoughts?

The Phrase "I'm Not  a Mind Reader" comes to mind, I think Agatha Christie Assumed people would be able to read the books in Chronological Order which is why SPOILER ALERT she reveals the Identities of some Murderers in Dumb Witness and along this vain I think she assumed people would have the Imagination to know things she didn't spell out but I do think some people have the Imagination to know what she assumed others would know but If she hadn't been like that Discussion sites would be barer.
