    I think Hannibal is a manchester terrier. According to The British Manchester Terrier Club, Hannibal was the model for Hannibal in Postern of Fate.

    Agatha Christie dedicated Postern of Fate thus: "For Hannibal and his master". Hannibal was the Beresfords dog and was based on Agatha Christies own dog Treacle. Treacles master of course was Max Mallowan.
