I hope they don't make Poirot have a random love interest or in other relationships. I hope they especially don't make him into a James Bond like character when tracking the ABC murderer. Thinking about it makes me rather squeamish.
I wouldn't be surprised with whatever changes they make to the character or to the story, especially with the way these new adaptations are going. But don't be surprised if they do give Poirot a love interest. They tried doing this when The Murder Of Roger Ackroyd was onstage in the 30's I believe (by the title Alibi) and they wanted to make Poirot into a younger man with female admirers. Of course Christie objected to this but if this were to happen on screen today, unfortunately, she's not here to disapprove of it and I don't believe anyone would have the guts to do the same.
