Elephants can remember - Wig issue******SPOILER ALERT******Please do not proceed if you haven't read

Hi fans!
I have a question:
How did Poirot realize that Dolly was wearing her sister's favourite wig if we don't have any clue what wig was the original Lady Ravenscraft wearing? Why does he say we know that on the day of the tragedy Lady R. was wearing the curly wig? Am I missing something?

I think that certain remarks may have been made by witnesses.  Also, Lady Ravenscroft had FOUR wigs, and some conclusions can be made by determining which wigs were left on their stands.

Thanks, I've tried to pick that up throughout the afternoon, but still not getting to the point.
