Gladys Martin– ex-maid and murder victim in A Pocket Full of Rye.

Cherry Baker– Works for Miss Marple in The Mirror Crack'd.  Moves into Miss Marple's house as full-time help (along with her husband) in Nemesis. Miss Marple sends her away temporarily in Crack'd so she doesn't get murdered.

Miss Knight– Appears in Mirror Crack'd.  Overbearing, patronizing, and annoying nurse/maid.  Miss Marple despises her.  Referenced in Nemesis– at first Miss Marple thinks her name is Miss Bishop (the mix-up is connected to chess).

Lucy Eyelesbarrow– domestic help extraordinaire.  Came to nurse Miss Marple back to health after a serious illness.  Never stays any place longer than a month, helps Miss Marple solve a crime in 4:50 from Paddington.

Unnamed parlourmaid– mentioned in passing in A Murder is Announced.  No good at all at waiting at table.  Puts everything on the table crooked, mixes kitchen knives with dining-room knives, and her cap was never straight.  Pleasant around the house, made Miss Marple laugh.  Comes to Miss Marple for help when her friend Florrie gets "in trouble" by the gentlemanly assistant at the hairdresser's.  Marries a Baptist minister and has five children.

Emily– the real name of the "very diminutive maid" in Vicarage.  Cannot be trusted to make up a bed properly.

Ethel– mentioned in "A Christmas Tragedy."  Good-looking girl and obliging in every way.  Only works for Miss Marple a month because Miss Marple believes that she is a potential thief.  Goes to work for Lady Ashton, and steals two diamond brooches and all of the lace off Lady Ashton's underclothes.  Disappears in the night and is never heard from again.

This is not a complete list, but it's a start.
  • That's impressive!

Is Florence the Maid Miss Marple goes to stay with in Sleeping Murder?
  • No - faithful Florence is the maid she goes to stay with in 4.50 from Paddington. I think in Sleeping Murder she goes to stay with an old cook or servant of Mrs. Bantry.
